porcupine enclosure Chester Zoo 15 October 1983
Porcupine enclosure at Chester Zoo. This exhibit was built in the 1950s and usually had Indian Crested Porcupines in it. Other animals I remember seeing there were raccoon dogs and common raccoons. This enclosure was demolished in 1996 when the condor aviary was built. The steps either side of the enclosure led to a short raised walkway overlooking a pit in which wolverines were once kept. This area later became part of the Maned Wolf enclosure.
