Drills, Chester 1972

Baboon pens, 14th July 1972 These cages were very unsatisfactory; stone walls and wire mesh, concrete and gravel underfoot, with small shelters. The Barbary macaque group did quite well in a double sized one, but the other species never really looked at home in them.

      great shot, this the cage ya brother rob, went to try and play with the monkeysand got spanked?

      It was one of them, I don't know exactly which one it was.

      i think you said it was a baboon of some sort (what type did chester have?)

      These cages reminded me rather of giant Litter baskets set on their sides. There was something not quite right about them- not enough security for the animals perhaps?
