Clovis?

This sign is in the wilds of Asia building where the Tamandua is. Can anyone shine some light on this as I\'m Intrigued.

For good and bad, this sign sums Colchester up. Asia... Tamandua... hmmmm. And the tributes to long-dead animals - it's a bit sentimental, rather naff, but also quite touching. In the sealion exhibit, there's a sign commemorating the county music legend, June Carter (aka Mrs Johnny Cash).

Yes, but you still did not tell us what kind of animal it was. "Last of a great race" makes it sound like the last living member of a now-extinct species or subspecies.

the only one i remeber is that the tiger enclosure where Sasha is, is dedicated to the mate she killed :O

My guess would be a chimpanzee. I think this is located close to the old chimp house, from many years ago.

There is several plaques dotted round the zoo - that are related to the family either pets or family members. I like it, I think it adds a personal touch to the zoo and reminds you that it is a family that owns it
