New exhibit, repurposed from former zebra housing block and yard.

External exhibit, currently occupied by Kirk's dik-dik (pair, just visible to right of right-hand shelter), Stanley crane, and East African crowned crane (both visible in corner of yard). Rhino paddock beyond.

It looks very dry. Is this because it's just finished and the plants haven't been able to establish themselves, because UK has had a drought or because it's themed to look that way? Anyway, I like the look of it, even if the fence doesn't look as good.

I would wish they renovate the back fencing structures to compliment the visitor railings and platform refurb (along with some planting towards back and in between so both cranes and dik dik have sufficient hiding structures).

Overall though, an improvement on the former.

I think you may find this is the former hardstanding area of the Zebra stables. If correct, it may have just been turfed/sanded to cover it over, and the exhibit itself created to make use of an empty area.
