      Ya Kwanzas \'girlfriend\'.

I wish which gets her again a baby.

It is not a good group anymore, ever since the arrival of Ya Kwanza. Only one female breeds out of four, and with no babies or juveniles coming up through the group- just the five adults.

I do not know if YK is still fertile after his operation- perhaps that is why there is no recent breeding with Hallili?

I believe there may be plans to reorganise the group(apart from moving Sakina) and this is long overdue-though its not the first time I've heard it has been talked about. Ya Kwanza is the main problem- they need a different male.

Ya Kwanza could go to Werribee?
Or he go to Port Lympne Zoo and Kush or Djimu come to Jersey.

They have always seemed very reluctant to move Ya Kwanza, despite his shortcomings, which I think they acknowledge but not to the extent of doing something about him-so far at least.

If they do replace him I think it definately needs to be with another fully adult male and preferably one that is already a proven breeder/group leader. I am sure the existing long-established females would reject or dominate either a young or an inexperienced male so there might still not be any mating.

The problem with the Howletts/PL bachelor males is they have been away from females a long time- a shortcoming demonstrated when Oumbi transferred to Twycross. But in principal a change as you outline would be worth trying, to improve the breeding prospects at Jersey.
