Southern Aardwolf (Proteles cristatus cristatus) at Hamerton Zoo Park - Mar

This individual is, I believe, the last of his subspecies in any European collection. The subspecies would appear to be primarily differentiated from the eastern population by a more typically hyena-like short face, and longer, darker fur.
