Water buffalo at Laverstoke Park Farm, 7 June 2009

This farm has a herd of over 1500 buffaloes, some of which are milked. The farm sells buffalo milk, ice cream and mozzarella

these look more similar to African Buffalo, when you compare them to the Assamese (?) wild-type animals at Port Lympne and I am told West Midlands also. They resemble the feral buffalo of the Pantanaal.

there are two domesticated types - the so called riverine, shown above and the longer horned swamp buffalo, which is the type run feral in australia.

from what i can gather the wild type animals look more like swamp buffalo.
