Nice to have a new zoo around, but shame about the overt CONVERTability and not good for basic education. A zoo that is overtly questioning evolution and biological research by religious contempt should have nog part in a conservation breeding environment. I have serious misgivings about a zoo that puts religion first, over recreation, education or conservation.

Its not realy that new of a zoo its been around for over 10 years now, even joining BIAZA doesn`t seem to have made much difference yet.

I have no idea how or why this poor excuse of a zoo can exist??

It's incredible, isn't it? I'm not a religious person so this sort of thing is lost on me; but the place has two major problems in my eyes: they are giving out an incredibly distorted view of science in their educational materials and they don't appear to be even basically competent in animal care or construction. Certainly not of the level you would expect from a BIAZA institution. See - Yellow Labrador put on show by tying it to a fence with just a basket and a water bowl, giraffe house held together by twine, prairie marmot enclosure that appears to have an electric fence two feet off the ground but no barrier below ground at all (photos of all of the above in the gallery), listing Somali Wild Ass on ISIS despite having only donkeys and Chapman's Zebras (and they still do, though I know for a fact this has been pointed out to them) and the whole tiger birth fiasco.

      How are they BIAZA members?

Isn't there some British anti-zoo group that can possibly shut down Noah's Ark Zoo/Farm? The signage, the quality of the enclosures, the overtly religious tone...all-around brutal.;)

But then they'd have the power to shut down good zoos and we don't want that :p

I can only assume it's some sort of elaborate practical joke that we just need to wait for the punchline to. :)

More seriously, they must just about reach the minimum levels, I suppose, or they wouldn't be allowed in. But none of the other BIAZA zoos I have visited are in this league of shoddiness.

EDIT: This is in reply to Ashley's post #6 above - we cross-posted after I got distracted while typing!

How would I go about becoming a zoo inspector? :D
