Giraffe house - South Lakes Wild Animal Park June 08

What a fantastic view of the rarely seen headless giraffe, another example of inept animal exhibitry at this park that could offer so much more!

I thought that the photo was due to the camera angle...but I suppose that this zoo constructed a giraffe barn that does not allow visitors to see the heads of such magnificent creatures. What a stupid idea...lol.

Unless the public can access a raised area then this is a really stupid looking design!

From what remember they had no viewing at head height, but then when we last visited (2006) I don't think we paid much attention to the Giraffe house.

What's stupid is the floor of the giraffe's area is raised even higher!

I don't think they are dalek. That's just a low barrier and the angle of the photo with the hay on the floor makes it seem raised

...Ah. I see.

Makes no difference though.
