Least Weasel at Wildwood 28/11/09

Mustela nivalis This is probably my favourite shot of this recent South-east England trip. My first time seeing our native weasel as anything other than a fast-moving blob in the car headlights. Was a good bit of timing on my part as it turned out - they'd just been fed and were busy bringing home the bacon, as it were. These glass-windowed burrows are very handy for giving a view of what would otherwise be a very difficult species to view.

Thanks - I was very lucky with the timing!

I can understand that, they had one at the New Forest not very long ago: It was just a blur!
