When I saw it being built I thought this was a large building for just 3(now 4) Elephants and I think perhaps they are still looking at enlarging their group (other than by breeding).

Thanks for this picture Bele. If you have more pics from the other outdoor paddocks or the elephants, I`d love to see them. Is the house open for the visitors?

The elephant in this pic must be one of the 2 young females. It`s certainly not the bull and neither Yu Zin from Emmen.

Yassa - the house is not open to the public and this is the only paddock with public viewing , the rest appear to be behind the building . Might have another photo or two , there were two Elephants in this paddock . Only a limited area to view the Elephants from your car only , and lots of cars were stopped here .

If you go for a second loop of the reserves the return route runs behind this paddock and has a lot more viewing of the elephants on both sides.

Its a pity the location doesn't allow the public to access the new house for inside viewing. I also feel they need to do something more to stimulate breeding here. Maybe either exchange the bull, or the younger two cows he's lived with a long time, as they should have produced some calves by now I think. They need some breeding really to put this facility on the map and to justify its construction.

Wonder if Chester would consider sending Upali to them temporarily ?
    • Pertinax
That's a good idea if they don't currently need him. He's proven now (x3) and I think these females may need an unfamiliar bull. Also Woburn have the room. Or maybe even consider exchanging the two bulls?
