would this have been taken in the old enclosure by the orangutans that now houses a group of four meerkats?
    • zooboy28
      Yes, that is this exhibit.

Is that another one behind the glass?

At first I thought it was a reflection but then realised it's facing the opposite way. :)
    • Chlidonias
yes it is. From memory there were just two there. The glass bit was their shelter I think.

If I reminder from 'The Zoo' TV show, the last surviving lace monitor was blind.

This rings a bell actually. This must have been season 1/2 as the last one would have died a good 10 years ago. Do you remember?

I have the DVDs of the Zoo, but the first three are just compilations of selected scenes from seasons 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, and I can't remember seeing the lace monitors on any of these. They also leave basically all the 'sad' stories out, so there's nothing about Larry the camel and lots of other key events.

I am not entirely sure, but I do remember pouring a trail of blood in the enclosure to encourage exercise and they mentioned that it was blind.
