      Nice pic Tim.

The one on the right is the individual with the deformed (ingrowing?) horn, if I'm looking at this correctly. I'd been wondering if that was likely to have any marked effect (behaviourally or otherwise), in the future?

      Thanks very much. :)

It was very difficult to take photos of these yesterday. Despite frequent visits to their enclosure and patiently waiting for a long while time they rarely showed themselves well.

Hopefully there will be better opportunities for photography once they've been given access to the larger enclosure.

It is lovely to have this species back at Whipsnade!

On my previous three visits to Whipsnade this year I could only glimpse the impala on the hardstand behind the bongo. Yesterday was the first time I'd seen them since they'd been moved to opposite the hippos so was my first opportunity to see them clearly; consequently it was also the first time I'd noticed that one had a deformed horn.

It isn't the individual from Cologne is it? I noted one with a deformed horn in 2013.
