Oh wow. Is this an individual disabled/'unisex' bathroom or is this sign on each of the bathrooms? Is it common to see this kind of inclusive effort in North America these days?
Canada is often seen as a very modern, progressive nation and many schools in British Columbia now have all-encompassing bathrooms or even specific bathrooms for transgendered students. There is always controversy as those rooms often are barely ever used but the same goes for disabled/unisex bathrooms as some schools have zero students that fit that description while other schools might have a number of students who use individual toilet facilities. Many North American zoos are now building "family rooms" that can in theory be used by anyone but I really applaud the Ucluelet Aquarium in having this sign on both of their public bathrooms. Anyone of any sexual orientation could use either bathroom and the rooms were self-locking from the inside. This was the first time that I'd seen such a sign in a public zoological facility.
