Their exhibit looks so dull and lifeless without all the plants. Some exhibit you barely notice the lack of plants in the spring and fall but other like this one you really miss them.

I usually go so early that the reflection from the sun against the glass makes it near impossible to get a decent shot.

I really hope that the zoo's new master plan will include a new jaguar exhibit. I feel like this one's way too small and I agree that the glass is really hard to take pictures through.

Yeah, this exhibit is just as bad as the cougar and lynx exhibits. They really need to phase out these giant cages.

Clearly there needs to be a new jaguar exhibit. Thankfully standards have changed in the roughly 30 years since it was built. I would guess a new jaguar exhibit will feature at least 2 good sized yards.

Unforuntately the whole Mayan Temple needs to go. I like the Temple decoration. But its now too far and too small to be worthwhile. Boy how I wished they had put a bridge leading from Tundra Trek to the Temple just to make it faster to access. I really hope the new masterplan calls for all the field space to the south to be used for exhibits. Sadly I dont think that would see an increase in species but it would see lots of nice exhibits.

Even though it will never happen anymore, I would have loved to see Tundra Trek expand into the Mayan Temple and bring musk oxen back on exhibit. I agree that there should be a way to get to the Mayan Temple from Tundra Trek.

I dont see why they couldnt be put with the reindeer. Other than the whole AZA has them on phase out issue.

I think our South American collection could be so much better. Compared to the other collections it feels woofully neglected. There are so many animals I would love to see added to it; andean bears, maned wolves, giant anteaters, more monkeys (dont even care what), Harpy eagles or andean condors or both, tocans, more parrots, giant otters just to mention a few. I would kill for the giant otters. The zoo just cant have enough otters as far as I am concerned because they are always entertaining.

How sad am I? I just noticed Zambucca in the photo.
