Hammerkop

Either Hector or Homer. Who lives near the otters for future reference? He flew by my head on his way up here. No idea where he came from but startled me while I was trying to get photos of the otters.

I believe that's Homer. Hector is in the giant bird cage inaccessible to the public. Never understood why that is, but the seems to be the current predicament.

I think it's because Homer escaped. He got out and they just haven't been able or inclined to catch him back up.

I do remember someone mentioning that Homer and Hector don't get along in the slightest. One reason to keep them apart.

I wish they got a mate for him. He spent all that time building a nest and now he almost never uses it.

Building a nest was good exercise and stimulation for him. It would be nice if a female arrived for one or both of the boys but that's not in the cards right now. Neither boy is deemed valuable enough for breeding. At least we have the boys.
