camouflage crab

NZ has a number of species of camouflage or decorator crabs (family Majidae). I think this species is [i]Notomithrax minor[/i] which often transplants pieces of sponges onto its shell as camouflage rather than using bits of seaweed as most of the other species do. Photo taken 27 August 2010
