      these look like Tule elk (Cervus canadensis nannodes), the smallest subspecies of elk, a very cool subspecies !!!, when did Chapultepec zoo obtain them and how and where did they obtain them from ?

      Interesting observation. Chapultepec has exchanged and recieved animals from san diego and los angeles,so that could be the source.

      That could be the case with these specimens because both Los Angeles Zoo and San Diego Zoo back in the day had Tule elk
