Cool shot. How is the species doing right now at Bronx? I know they've bred in the past. Also, how many zoos in the US have lesser adjutants any more? I know only of Bronx and Racine, but are there more?
They're actually doing very well and I believe there was a chick within the last year or so. So well in fact, Bronx even exported 3 I believe to Paignton Zoo. Not sure what other zoos have them.
Thanks . I had heard about the three being exported overseas but had forgotten where to. Glad to hear they're doing well.
Got better views of those individuals there than I ever have at Bronx, too I think they had two chicks that were being raised by surrogates if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure if anyone outside of Bronx and Racine has them anymore. I saw one at Cincinnati in 2013 but they're gone now. ~Thylo
I saw that individual too, I discovered after looking through loads of old photos. However, I don't remember it and the only photo I have (all we had at the time was my mom's crappy digital camera) is not focused, and has the bird's neck and head cut off. I'm hoping to get to Bronx soon.
