Cincinnati Zoo - Lizard

July 2008. This tiny little lizard was in the white tiger exhibit, but the tiger was sleeping and far too oblivious to pounce.

These are Italian Wall lacertas. They were singlehandedly introduced to the Cincinnati area by the Lazarus family, owners of a department store that has recently been bought out by Macy's. The kids would bring these guys back from Europe and over the years they started thriving across certain parts of the city. I can walk through my buddy's yard on the east side of town and just watch them scatter from the sidewalk.
