Did you get to see the male elephant? I heard he just went on exhibit this month.

The male was off exhibit because I didn't see him, but when I was there I saw a massive amount of construction on the elephant house. One entire visitor pathway was closed down due to the bulldozers and workers.

Identification of elephants at Cincinnati Zoo

Are you able to identify the three elephant cows at the Cincinnati Zoo? Which one is Schottzie, My-Thai and Jati in your photo? There is another photo at http://www.asianelephant.net/cincinnati/cincinnati.htm with the same ladies.

I am particularly eager to know which one is Scottzie as she is the second daughter of Chieng Mai in Copenhagen Zoo. The first daughter, Irma, born in 1970 is the matriarch at the Blijdorp Zoo in Rotterdam.

      Thanks for your help! :)

I have no idea which elephant is which, as this was in the middle of my 8-week, 30 zoo/aquarium road trip and I don't know any elephants by name. Sorry!
