      great exhibit!

Again, appearances are deceiving; it's actually not that great...

What about it is it that you donĀ“t like, Sun Wukong?

As for myself, I would like to see a bit of flat surface in zoo exhibits even when the animal in question live on cliffs in the wild. Just a feeling of mine that even animals like that, now and then, might like to stretch out running or jumping on a bit of flat land.

I guess the "green stuff" right below the rocks is a water moat, not a flat surface accessible to the animals? Or is it actually grass?

I understand appearances can be deceiving, but in this case I do not see it. What about this enclosure is less than ideal?

For the number of animals kept within, the exhibit is rather small and bare. Secondly, the area (see the buck?) on the very right is all old concrete(though rather flat-@Dan)-a not very nice sight, and although positive in terms of hoof abrasion, not very optimal for the animals' joints. Thirdly, visitors have direct access to the animals from that very side -which triggers unwanted feeding and the potential of injuries on both sides (and don't forget: Salzburg also allows pet dogs to accompany their owners to the zoo). Actually, the ibex should have gotten a new exhibit (next to the wolves) quite a while ago, but this plan was never turned into reality.

And yes, it's a water moat full of algae.
