It looks small but really nice

Yet another abandoned-temple/ruined structure type of exhibit, and I prefer the large island that is part of this gibbon habitat.

Are the siamangs and white handed gibbons together. I always thought siamangs were too rough to be kept with anything smaller than thwemselves and that is why they are often kept with Orang-utans.

I think somebody once mentioned that they rotate, but I'm not sure.
    • Buckeye092
Yes they rotate. We have one group of Lar Gibbons and one group of Siamangs.

      Thanks for that ColumbosZoo001.

How does the rotation policy work for the two gibbon species? Do they each spend a few hours on the island and then the rest of the time indoors? Also, what happens at night?
    • Buckeye092
When they are exhibited, each species gets every other day on the island, while the other species is in this exhibit. I'm not sure about night but I think the island species gets the indoor exhibit and the species that was indoors gets the island "prep" rooms, off exhibit - so they can be let out to the island immediately in the morning.
