      This is what is possible when a zoo spends over $60 million on a new exhibit complex: an entire town is created!:)

      I love how my obsession to capture shots without people leads this particular one to look like a ghost town!

      I was under the impression that a good portion of this town was there before they built Texas Wild. Can some one verify this?

      Nope, this was built entirely from scratch. One of the zoo's board members--of the famous Bass family--kept pouring money into the project to make it bigger and more "edutainment"-oriented. She also largely bankrolled the MOLA project.

      Wow, I stand corrected. I was basing this off of Allan Nyhuis's 1994 zoo guidebook where it refers to a Texas Town at Fort Worth. I just assumed they used what was there when they built Texas Wild! Thanks for the info reduakari.
