What species are kept there, I remember forest buffalo and american bison when I was there in 2003, but I read that they have takin too.

I dont think they have Forest Buffalo anylonger, did they use to keep these in their savannah exhibit as well? if so probably replaced either by African buffalo or Zebra.

Dont recall seeing any Takis either, but could very well have missed these as I basically run through parts of the park.

This is the former Bovoid House in which now only two species are kept: plain zebra and African buffalo. The former paddocks for wisent, American buffalo, takin, red forest buffalo, etc. have been smashed together. The two species live next to each other but in separate paddocks.
The zoo still keeps takins in it's Himalayan exibit, together with Himalayan thars.
The red forest buffalo were all sent to Portugal as they were not pure bred.
