      Is this an animal exhibit?

No, this is the iconic events area of the zoo. I posted the photo because it will soon be demolished. The zoo plans to build a new events area, a new restaurant, and a carousel.

It hasn't looked right since they took the tops off. I know they had to, but still...

Thanxs for the info. I am so exited to go. Just a couple more weeks until I get to see it.

I won't be too sad to see it go! 44 years of wasted prime space that overlooks much of the zoo. Mario, any news on when they begin setting up the new carousel? They claim it will be up before the end of the year. As for a restaurant, it would be nice if they go all out on that, though I personally haven't seen or heard any news concerning one; it least not in recent years. It would be the perfect spot if the carousel doesn't take up too much space. Maybe a large family themed restaurant encompassing the carousel, with plenty of indoor seating and outdoor patio overlooks.

I also have no idea when the construction will start on this project. Regarding the restaurant and events area, it was mentioned in one of the volunteer dinners. Although it was mentioned no time table was given, so who knows when this will happen.

Treetops terrace is still here! The carousel was built on the hill next to the terrace! It has a great view of the zoo, though.
