      i love that they went to all the trouble of planting on the outside of the exhibit.... now maybe they can do the same on the INSIDE where it actually matters!

      They actually did, but the Jaguar destroyed it. When the jaguar arrived at the the zoo he had never seen plants or touched actual dirt, so he destroyed all of the plants. The exhibit used to be lush and the Jaguar was not visible, but now they are all gone.

      Is there still a jaguar in this exhibit almost 4 years later? Is there any hope at all of a jaguar enclosure being part of 2013's Rainforest of the Americas?

      There is still a jaguar in here and there are now some plants, which still doesn't make it a good exhibit. All indications are that there will not be a jaguar exhibit as part of the new Rain Forest of the Americas unfortunately. This is a disappointment both because it seems logical that this should be a centerpiece of the new complex given the charisma and ecological importance of the species and because it means that the exhibit in this photo will persist.

      Supposedly due to a shortage of Rainforest of the Americas funds.
