ZOO Antwerpen - Nocturama (Bat cave)

The cave for Egyptian fruit bats (Rousettus aegyptiacus) inside the Nocturama in ZOO Antwerpen. The fruit bats also have access to a larger exhibit through the small hole. The Nocturama is the zoos nocturnal house and was originally built as part of the Jubilee Complex which opened in 1968 to celebrate the zoo’s 125th anniversary (also including the Bird of Prey Aviaries, Aquaforum and Carnivore exhibits). It was later given a renovation and facelift in 2006. ZOO Antwerpen, July 2011.
