Asian Forest Sanctuary - Mineral Lick

August 2009. Sumatran tigers, white-cheeked gibbons, siamangs, lowland anoas, small-clawed otters, malayan tapirs and crested porcupines rotate through a series of 5 exhibits. There are some mixed-species habitats, and zoo visitors never truly know what animal will be in each exhibit whenever they pass through the Asian Forest Sanctuary.

On the day of my visit there were crested porcupines and small-clawed otters in this exhibit. Out of the 5 exhibits that feature rotating animals, this one obviously never holds either one of the gibbon species or the sumatran tigers as it has a low wall and is open-topped. Some of the Asian animals can possibly be viewed in any one of 5 different enclosures, but the gibbons and tigers can only be found in 3 and 4 different exhibits respectively.
