meal worm cookie

March 31, 2012. At the docent meeting this morning, one of the educators brought in five cookies with meal worms that were left over from zoo camp. This was the last one left as four of them were actually eaten by docents. Apparently you cannot taste the meal worms, but I declined nonetheless.

      So these aren’t enrichment treats?
    • Arizona Docent
Not animal enrichment, no, just enrichment for zoo camp kids! (But it was done to teach them about animal enrichment I am sure).

Kids here at Outdoor School are asked to put live slugs on their tongs to understand how those animals will num your mouth. If you can find a slug down there in Tucson you can try it.
