And nice, pretty cool animals. Unfortunately, the zoo is keeping them behind the scenes.

Excellent photo. For some reason antelope are my personal favorites of all animals.... and by the way Zebraduiker did you get to see them right before they were taken behind the scenes?

Hoofed Animals are my favourites, too, especially antelopes. I've seen the Jacksons at San Antonio for the first time in my life, but never on exhibit. And they are still off exhibit, a friend of mine has seen them there last year.

It would be nice to see more hartebeeste in zoos.

I agree, but this a just a dream. I think, Jacksons and and Jimela are gonna be to phase out in the States.

There is much talk of phasing in Jackson's Hartebeest now.

I checked ISIS and San Antonio Zoo has 1 male and 3 females, and St. Catherines Island Foundation has 1 male and 4 females

I was reading through the Antelope TAG and I found out that the first record of a Jacksons hartebeest in a north american zoo was at the Bronx Zoo in 1913, the first captive birth of a Jacksons hartebeest in north america was at the Bronx Zoo in july of 1965
