The Tiger River complex is over 25 years old now and has held up pretty well. Sometimes San Diego Zoo mixes up some of their geographically themed exhibits, but this exhibit has been continuously Southeast Asia themed throughout it's lifespan...DOH!

This tiny exhibit was originally occupied by pygmy slow loris when it opened and I believe it has held small birds too at other times.

It was always fun to see the loris, even though it was almost always just a little sleeping ball of fur. It's too bad that this species is no longer exhibited. I don't think that there are loris exhibits anywhere in California (or even on the west coast?) anymore. San Francisco used to have them in their nocturnal primate hall.

The bird exhibit here held timor elegant pitta, silver eared media, hooded pitta, pekin robin and blue-winged mina in its time.

I also seem to recall this exhibit having Prevosts squirrel at one time too but am not sure. They certainly had them in one of the old demolished cages where the Tasmanian devil exhibits are now.

Does anyone know if they have ever had treeshrews in this exhibit?
