Sign just says they are "improving the zoo", but no mention of what animal this will be for. Based on the beer barrel houses, I would guess something like monkeys or coatis.

Where in the zoo is this AZ Docent?

On the front side, basically between the old and new entrance. (In front of all the old bird runs, if that helps).

I have a feeling it is coati.

It is now fairly lushly planted and features a number of perches for macaws. The only barrier between visitors and birds are the small wooden logs.

Does that mean that the infamous "Macaw on a Stick" exhibit is no longer in use?

The stick is definitely still there, but there wasn't a macaw anywhere near it on my visit.
