When l first met Molly Badham and Nathalie Evans a lovely couple. In the late 80's. I also challenged them on there association with the "tea party" adds. There were very kind and explained that twycross would have never come about without there finacial support. It seems excusabeale back then.

In todays zoo world. I cannot see why it is allowed!

Although it is interesting that in many parts of Asia Apes are used in this manner including boxing orangs. Seems asian society allows this.....

But then apes kind of volunteraly put clothes on in zoos, and I really believe the Twycross chimps did enjoy doing the ads, but I guess each to their own ;)

i think the days of apes dressing up as people are over.

Horrible, and so sad it still goes on in some parts of the world.

I might be being pedantic but providing a pile of clothes (as is the practice in some zoos ) for apes with, I suppose, the intention that they would be stimulated by the colour and feel of the various types of cloth, and then them happening to try some of the garments on (no doubt in a random, higgledy piggledy manner), is, I feel, rather different to deliberately dressing them up as a 'human' for photo opportunities. It's disrespectful and pointless, and arguably stressful when said animal is also expected to pose with a continual variety of strange humans which means taking them out of a familiar environment and away from their group.

That one wouldn't belong to a 'group' - it would have been pulled for handraising.

Posing with humans is also incredible bad for their health, exposing them to the coughs and colds of hundreds of people a day...
