Lory?

This was taken in the aviary at Hong Kong Park. There were a few lory species, so maybe this was a hybrid, or maybe it's a juvenile?

it is definitely a hybrid, and not an attractive one either! One parent is a rainbow lorikeet, the other I have no clue but it's appearance makes me think an Eos species which would be interesting.

(The other option would be some weird aberrant plumage of a regular rainbow lorikeet)

      Hi Chlidonias
I agree. It's certainly a Eos-species involved. I'll guess Black-winged Lory E. cyanogenia but hybrids may end up strange.

According to the species listing on their website (and my other pics) they have red lories, black-capped lories, and rainbow lorikeets.
