it doesnt look like there is any filtration...was there?
    • Chlidonias
you know what, that didn't even occur to me at the time but looking at the photos I can't see anything at all in the tanks that could be part of filtration equipment.

i spose the damsels in there are pretty hardy fish.. i was looking for an overflow but theres not even that

there is an opening 2 inches from the bottom of tank that is joined to an undergravel plate in the tank... to prevent all the water from gushing or even syphoning out the exit pipe makes a u-bend upward with an opening at the top and then bends downward to a filter chamber at the bottom of the tank... water is sent back into the tank by a pump from the sump into a homemade wave maker at the top right hand corner of each tank

Thanks for the reply, It looks really nice withouth pipework hanging everywhere, Is it possible to get a diagram of this system?

worth noting those tanks aren't there any more. In their place are terrariums for reptiles

@Chlidonias, no word on where the sea turtles went?

BTW: were they greens - guessing by the looks of them - Chelonia mydas or other?
    • Chlidonias
the baby turtles were hawksbills and greens. But no, I have no idea what happened to them. They may indeed have been released as the sign suggested they would be.
