Pelican Cove, Jurong BirdPark

It's home to about 60 pelicans from all 7 species (Dalmation, Eastern White, Australian White, American White, Brown, Pink-backed & Spot-billed). The exhibit also features an underwater viewing area where you can see how their pill pouches expand when fishing.

What species of pelican is dominant in that exhbit?
    • Zooish
The dalmatians are dominant by sheer size. They literally throw their weight around.

      Don't they interbreed?
    • Zooish
They don't. They pretty much stick with their own species.

      How many of each species?
    • Zooish
Not exact figures, but my own rough estimate:

      dalmation: 15-20
      eastern white: 10
      american white: 6
      australian: 8
      pink-backed: 10
      brown: 5
      spot-billed: 2

      Any breeding sucess?

There aren't many spot bills are there.
    • Zooish
Very successful with the dalmations, i believe the rest have all bred before except the spot-bills (same sex pair if i'm not mistaken) and the americans.
