      African Waterfall Aviary

      Lilac-breasted Roller
    • Malayan Tapir
Judging by the lack of Blue on base of the chest it's actually a Rufous-crowned roller, Coracias naevius.
    • Maguari
      C. naevius was my first thought, too.

Sorry FBBird, you know waaay more about birds than me, but shouldn't it have a lilac breast / be more colourfull?
    • FBBird
Having looked it up, I'll go with Rufous-crowned. Sometimes I really show my ignorance.

      Thanks guys.

While I had no idea what species this was, I do really like this photo. It is very well composed and if I took it it would be one that I would use for my desktop background, or even print out and frame.

Thanks for the comments Zooboy, it's actually a crop of a larger pic as the bird was quite far away.
