      Jungle Jewels ID

      Euphonia sp?
    • vogelcommando
      I would say Thick-billed Euphonia ( Euphonia laniirostris )
    • Jackwow
It looks like it VC, although none of the pictures I have found of Thick-billed Euphonia on the net show the blue head feathers extending so far down the neck and across the front of the throat?

      Another jungle...

The other possibility would be Orange-bellied Euphonia

      Thanks FBBird.

with its dark throat and big yellow crown (going well behind eye), 3 euphonia species are possible: Yellow-crowned, orange-crowned and orange-bellied. I know Jurong has the last species, but don't know if they have the first two.

      Thanks for the input Condor.
    • Onychorhynchus coronatus
Yes, it is a euphonia, the species though I'm not sure as I'm not brilliant with birds
