That is quite a change! Do these exhibits occupy that entry area on the ground floor? The Aquarium's website suggests this "Tropical Seafest" is only a temporary exhibition, until September.

Interesting and personally I think this sounds better than the previous, which could get a bit repetitive for all but the most hardcore aquarium fans.

However, they'll get problems with all those garibaldis in this tank. At least when they reach full adult size. Based on tests at the 1.25 million liter kelp tank in Monterey Bay aquarium they're able to keep up to c. 6 (but typically keep c. 4 to maintain a more peaceful balance). More and it's total war, eventually resulting in the demise of the weaker specimen.

@zooboy28: The new habitats were converted from existing ones. They are permanent. The Tropical Seafest is a seasonal activity held in conjunction with the launch of the new habitats.

@temp: Interesting bit about the garibaldis. This habitat has several dozens, but all still young specimens.

Oh right. That's kind of a shame they abandoned the SEA theme then. I doubt typical visitors would have found the previous displays too repetitive.
