Hi Zooish, thanks for posting these photos. Is this natural forest that these exhibits are built in, and what is enclosing the exhibit? Some kind of mesh? Is the front of this exhibit glass? Quite an immersion exhibit!
@DavidBrown: The park was built within an area of secondary rainforest, so much of the vegetation was retained. The fishing cat enclosure is fenced at the back and sides, but the front is moated with no glass or mesh; the moat is deep towards the visitor side, coupled with an overhang (the green thing under the vine barrier), its enough to keep the cats in.
Thanks for the info Zooish. Your zoo has many cool exhibits. Do they stock the fishing cat's stream with fish and do you ever see it fishing?
I've seen the cats fish on a number of occasions, but it takes a bit of patience and some luck (they're well-fed animals afterall and much prefer to just lounge around). The stream is filled with live fish.
