Why is the Seoul Zoo not getting any more gorillas?

I think Gorilong, an old male gorilla, which lived in Seoul zoo and died last year, was came from Africa and arrived in the zoo in the 1960s, and Gorina came to the zoo from U.S.A in the 1990s, because in that time Gorilong was the only western lowland gorilla in Korea.
Although Seoul zoo is doing their best to get their new gorillas in many ways, but they couldn't get them yet because gorillas are in endangered and it is almost impossible for every zoos to get them from their native habitat because of the CITES. And the thing about the regulation about the import of the primates in Korea is adapted for the science lab, not for zoos, so zoos in Korea can able to buy primates if they want, by passing though the quarantine from the government. So if there is the chance for Seoul zoo to get their new gorillas in the future, then they can able to try to get them as soon as possible. I hope Seoul zoo could able to get their new gorillas in many ways, like getting a new gorilla from foreign zoos, so somedays, this alone grammy gorilla Gorina can able to live with her partner or friends in Seoul zoo .

It has been mentioned that male 'Ujiji' from Howletts in the UK has recently been sent here to join this female. I hope this proves a positive move and that they are able to keep them together.

Am I the only poster here who thinks that this unfortunate animal looks very overweight?
    • blospz
@ IanRRobinson: No, I was about to say the same thing!
    • Jihoon Lee
Yes I heard about that. He arrived in this January and maybe he will be shown to the public in Spring. Since it was a hard process to find the mate for 'Gorina', so I hope 'Ujiji' could make 'Gorina' to get their offspring.
