elephants, Chiang Mai Zoo (Thailand)

22 Sept 2006. These poor elephants were confined within the circular wall for the entire time I was at the zoo (there was a barrier across the opening behind them).

      are the enclouser the only one for them? in thet case the zoo have a awful elephant enclouser

      I'm surprised that the elephants are not chained to the pole in their enclosure. That way they could go around and around and perhaps become a mini-generator and therefore create an electrical current...haha.

      the actual enclosure is on the other side of the circular pit. Its still very small but obviously much larger than the pit. I don't know how often or for how long the elephants are allowed out into the enclosure proper. Possibly its only for rides. Who knows.
