      Could this potentially be an Andean squirrel (Sciurus pucheranii)?

      It certainly doesn't look like the (few) S. granatensis that I've seen, either in zoos or wild in Costa Rica. Hard to judge the size but given the white belly and strong orange-reds, and assuming it's not granatensis, possibly Southern Amazon Red Squirrel, Sciurus spadiceus?

      Possibly, thanks! I'll be keen to see what HMW suggests - but with over 30 suggested subspecies of S. granatensis it might still be quite difficult.
