FelidLover, you just don't know how many of us long and desire to see one of these guys!!:D There's one in Connecticut but she's at a non-public breeding center. Great photo of a rare animal!

See my pictures in the Soth Africa - other gallery...maybe someone can move them here?

Did you get some contact with the cubs?

Was the king cheetah not in the drive-through enclosure?

      Ah someone else who's been?
Not particularly...we had the encounter with the ambassador cheetah and saw the run but we weren't allowed near any cubs. I assumed noone was?

We did see everything though - not that I remember or I'd have pictures of that!

I've loved King Cheetahs, ever since I saw a photo of one in a book back in the 1960s.

My all time favorite animal from a place I would love to visit some day. Thanks for posting. I did have the opportunity to see one in person at the St Louis Zoo just over a decade ago.

      Thank you! :)

When we went in 2011, there were various things you could pay extra for - cub contact, ambassador encounter, etc.....we went for the cub encounter, and one of them was a king. There was also an adult King in the drive-through cheetah enclosure with 3 'normal' cheetahs.

Definitely an really interesting place...........did you manage any other 'zoos' while in SA? I realise thats not the reason for going though!
