Example of Signage - 23 March 2017

23 March 2017, at Flamingo Land, Malton. On two out of three aviaries, new since my previous visit.
    • Chlidonias
um... they capitalized garzetta. And there's no information. Is this the only sign or are there others which actually say something?
    • Macaw16
This is the only sign (except identical ones for the other species in the aviary), still an improvement on the previous signs, which were nonexistent!
    • Maguari
It might just be my eyes being blinded by the first serious appearance of the sun outside my house this year, but doesn't that look more like a Snowy Egret? I've never seen a Little with that much and that bright a shade of yellow facial skin.
    • Chlidonias
could be - I guess it depends where the photo came from. But nigripes from southeast Asia has yellow facial skin, unlike your European Little Egrets. I don't actually know how to tell them apart from Snowy Egrets from a photo though.
    • Maguari
Ah, possibly it's an Asian bird in the photo then. The ones in the zoo will be E. g. garzetta, I'm sure.
