Blue-faced honeyeater shows its tongue
    • gentle lemur
      Entomyzon cyanotis.
      It was a very hot afternoon so many birds were panting in the heat. It was only when I looked at my photos that I noticed something strange: I had not realised that honeyeaters have brush tongues, like lories which also feed on nectar. The inset image gives the clearer view.
