Just about the most naturalistic tank ever.

      Contains:
      Convict Cichlid
      Firemouth
      Jaguar Cichlid
      Common Plecostomus

      Wrong in so many ways!
Why is the tank set up for marines? o_O
Is it a good idea to keep managuensis with other cichlids? :(
Is a tank for Central American cichlids really labelled as South American?

@gentle lemur It's not really labeled as South American. I call it that because it is located in the part of the zoo that is planned to become the "Tropical Trail" for South American species. So, it WILL be incorrect, but currently is not.

The Jaguar Cichlid is small, and this species is often kept in mixed tanks.

Not sure why it has the coral setup, though.

@birdsandbats I think zoos have a responsibility to demonstrate good fishkeeping practice. The marine set up is so wrong. Of course a small guapote will not cause trouble with other cichlids, but they don't remain small for long - it's like keeping a fox cub in a henhouse!
