Andean cock-of-the-rock

Rupicola peruvianus sanguinolentus

Andean cock-of-the-rock

From my understanding, the cock-of-the-rocks at Faunia have always been a subject of debate.

The male is known to be of the sanguinolentus subspecies but the female was never proven (as far as I know) to be as well so I am happy to post this picture which should prove the latter, making Faunia the sole holder of this subspecies in Europe with a pair in its possession. :D

      Taken the 30/12/2018.
