Male Victoria Crowned Pigeon

What makes you so sure its a male ?

Oke that makes sence because actualy there is no difference between male and female. BTW : incubating the egg is done by both sexes in this species so if one is on the egg this doesn't mean automaticly that the one not on the nest should be the male. But when the keeper told so I hope ( and guess ) he/she knows his/her animals good enough to tell which is the male and which the female.

@vogelcommando she seemed very knowledgeable, we were having a good old chinwag about the birds in the walk-through aviary, especially so about the yellow cardinals and the birds had coloured rings on their legs, she had to have a look before confirming it was the male
